Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

I was actually thinking 6 little rubber plugs, in black. Maybe domed at the top like an allen head bolt, no idea where to get these though. I'll try the red electrical tape but I don't think that will match.

I guess I could get 6 black allen head bolts with rubber washers and secure them underneath with the washers and nuts from the wing. Actually I may do this, sacrifice a few ounces haha.

You can get stuff like that at napa, or maybe fastenal, youd have to play with sizes.

McMaster-Carr.

Would something like this work?

Maybe that with some sort of water barrier (oring or something).

Seems like it could work.

a dab of clear silicone worked for my spoiler delete. Once it's time to pull them back out the dry silicone rubs off with your finger. Easy peasy!

Or, if you can find one that fits tight you wouldn't have to worry about the silicone.

Got the wing fully mounted, along with the brace inside the trunk, plus painted satin black. It's way sturdier than I expected, I can push pretty hard on it even sideways and it doesn't budge. Also got the mega wide side sills installed, it does make egress quite a bit more difficult, I have to pull Emily out of the car now.

Now that the wing is painted black, plus the side sills, I actually like it more than the wingless look. Car looks proper with that wing.

I think now the biggest thing that would make it look better is painting the front splitter black. Maybe I'll get some plastidip and try it this weekend.

Edit: I'm selling the car, so if anyone is seriously interested, PM me for details. No, there is nothing wrong with it, I absolutely love the car, I just found something else I'm interested in. If it doesn't sell in a couple weeks I'll probably race it again this year.

I vote no on the front splitter, leave it red! Wing and wheels look ghey enough as it is! :D

I think it looks great, and I think you might be right about going black on the front splitter.

Since I know what you want instead...sell it!

I do agree on painting the front splitter black to match the wing and sills.

Regarding making it harder for girls to get out of the car...

Re: 2007 Lotus Exige S

Comparison of how I received the car in Sep 2012 to today. Before looks like a nimble little car, after looks like a mean race car. At least to me it does, I love the transformation.

Going to paint the splitter black this weekend and remove those ugly metal plate mounts which I've been meaning to do for 18 months.
http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/da...fore_after.jpg

Edit: I barely scraped the front lip for the first time ever tonight going up a steep driveway. Fortunately it was completely on the bottom side, not noticeable at all, no cracks in the fiberglass or paint. I set the ride height on the star specs which were a little taller than stock, and the new RA-1 are a little shorter than stock, so the ride height is now about 1/2" lower, but it looks awesome, maybe 3" of clearance between the front splitter and the ground. Probably 1.5" lower than stock.
Also got up to about 100mph briefly today, and the wing didn't fly off, so I guess that's a good sign that it's mounted decent haha (tons of drag and decent downforce at that speed). Just to be safe I'm going to check the bolts again tomorrow.
