Who has used 1600cc Injectors
I need to upgrade my injectors once again and the fic 1600cc injectors are priced right but I have heard of some driveability issues with using these injectors. Wondering if I should pick these up or maybe spend some more money and buy the 1150cc injectors fic sell. Anyone have any experience with these injectors?
I have a 2.4, pte 3561, DSMLink, Buschur AFPR, supra TT pump. I also plan on running ethanol on the street. Jim |
Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
Will you even need 1600cc injectors? I would just go with the 1150cc instead. I know Jake (eclipseGST) has 1600cc with DSMlink and they idle fine.

Thats right, Jake bought Shane's old 1600cc injectors, good to know he is having decent luck with them. |
Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
Yep... They run awesome. Global is 72% and deadtime is 450 with PTE 1600's.
Its nice to have larger injectors just for the fact that you'll never have to upgrade again and thats just one less thing holding you up later on. When I ran my car on the dyno, the most airflow I saw before the turbo blew was 51lbs/min and I was at 29% IDC (injector duty cycle) :) I have also heard that Chris (v8killa) is using 1600s with DSMlink also and they were running good, not sure if that is true or not, just what I heard when I was buying the injectors. |

haha 51lbs/min at 29%!!! haha that is fucking awesome!

Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
There's a guy on another board that is taking out his 1600's and AEM EMS to run DSMLink and 880's just because he hated tuning it. He's running a large turbo that I haven't heard of, but similar to a GT-35R.

Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
Many people on the dsmlink forums are running them Jim. Search on there and you will find a big thread with what people have said about them. Most people like them and havn't had much of a problem tuning with them.

Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
I have had no problems thusfar, however my car idles upwards of 2000 rpms.
It's always nice to have a little extra room up top though, at 87 lbs/min I'm at 75.6% duty cycle ;) CC |
Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
Holy shit, your flowing 87lbs/min... Is this in the GSX and I sure hope thats not what you ran when you put down the 11.3 at RF?
Thats nice to know about the duty cycle. What gas are you using and what size fuel pump? |

Hoping to improve on that significantly this season ;) Chris |

The lb/min numbers aren't going to be accurate unless you have a 100% stock 2g MAS on the car.

Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
You are correct I am using a GM MAFT, thus the numbers cannot be 100% relied upon in regards to lbs/min. However, as you may remember we spent many hours on elite's dyno removing and replacing the stock 2G MAS to get the airflow correction as close as possible...

Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
Anyway, I ordered 1600cc injectors from FIC. I appreciate everyone's input and I'll let you guys know how they work out for me.

Re: Who has used 1600cc Injectors
Just thought I'd bring this back from the dead real quick as I just installed my PTE 1600's. I've found mine to idle best right now at 70% Global and 375 deadtime. I've been searching and searching and can't seem to fine an exact number to use as far as deadtime goes on these. Generally I found people running anywhere from 350-400 (and 1 case of someone running FIC1600's @ 180), and anywhere from 65-75% global. The equation from the Link forums was (450/1600) - 1 = ~72%. So that's where I started, but ended up getting my best idle at about 70%.
This is still on 92 pump. I just wanted to get it running somewhat decent on pump, before I start doing full E85 here shortly. |
