Re: where to get dyno tuned

Ok here's all of the stuff I did to find my missing 60whp on my evo:

-swap BOV's
-lifter broke/rocker loose NOPE
-compression test 170 165 165 175 NOPE
-boost leak at TB (fixed)
-boost leaking past turbo bearings (nope, replaced turbo and ALL gaskets, lines, washers, etc)
-map averaging makes dyno goofy (boost was holding fine; not the problem)
-compression test @ DB: 165 165 163 172
-leakdown @ DB: 13% 9% 8% 2%
-Pull ALL IC piping and FMIC, clean, inspect for blockage. (FMIC inlet was veeery slightly dented, one coupler seemed to end up off-center connecting FMIC & LICP)
-Upgrade BR Deluxe FMIC to RACE FMIC & custom LICP (i.e. fix kinks in piping, nothing major?)
-valve gunkage somewhere? (did some fuel system cleaner)

I think that's everything...then power was back at spring dyno day at DB...anyone that was there must have thought I was insane, my car made ~370whp on pump and ~395whp on alky and was PUKING coolant....headgasket was gone (again), re-used ARP studs during HG job the previous fall apparently couldn't deal with the new-found power....ended up going through the head: AMS/TMS L19 headstuds, valve-job, valve seals, porting, phenolic spacer IM gasket, blah blah blah the car ran like a top for a few days, then immediately back to Shane@DB to confirm all was well and for two full pump and pump/alky tunes.

In the end, I made FOUR trips to the dyno and the car went from ~300whp (when it pulled in originally for baseline just before BBK turbo) up to 330whp (on the IX turbo, with some shane tuning time), up to ~350whp (on BBK and some more tuning) and then up to 395whp (BBK, at spring dyno day) to 432whp at the end of June when all was said and done.

Oh, and right when I had to do the (second) HG job, I realized that my brake pads and stock rotors were DONE and did a full brake job. If the car had needed a clutch or anything else for the rest of the summer, I probably would have started going back to church. Thankfully, I had plenty of time for reflection during all of this.

Good luck man, keep us up to date!
