I jsut tried spraying some simple green on some areas, and let it sit, then wiped/scrubbed with a towl..didn't notice a real difference..maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I have no idea.. Just scrub some more idk.. Maybe your grease is like caked on real good. Just keep working at it. I'm sure it'll come off.
