So I've been watching a ton of Jafromobile videos on youtube and this is something that he did in one of them. Good thing I checked into it too, it ended up being worth my time.

Barely tapped it with a screwdriver and it fell right off:

Also dug out all the rtv from the valve cover bolt holes:
Next up was doing the head oil port mod. Got out the die grinder and used an old head gasket for a template so I wouldn't screw up the head surface, I used a couple head bolts to keep the gasket put:
