There are many different versions of the HX40. The best ones are good for nearly 700hp in a bolton housing, and the worst ones are close to the same hp wise as an HX35.

There are 6,7,8 blade compressors, and 10 & 12 blade turbines. Some compressors are bigger than others as well. The 12 blade turbine is for the highest hp, and the 6 & 7 blade compressors are supposed to be much better than the 8 blade ones.


HX35's are a lot simpler, since the two main ones are 7 blade compressor and 8 blade compressor. The 7 blade flows more so it's a better match for a larger T3 turbine housing, and the 8 blade matches up very well with the small bolton housing.
